Traditional Bacio di Dama
Baci di dama are delectable treats rooted in Piedmontese culture. These small cupolas of butter and almond short crust pastry, joined by dark chocolate, conjure two lips coming together in a kiss, whence their name. Dating back to the mid-1800s in Tortona, they were originally made with more affordable hazelnuts native to the Piedmont region, but later replaced with almonds. Baci di dama have since attained global fame for their delightful flavour and light, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
